About the Role
We are looking for a Security Engineer to join our team responsible for the secure backbone of Plaid. This role focuses on building and maintaining security systems that serve as the trust layer for the fintech ecosystem, with opportunities to define industry standards in areas like next-generation authorization, AI guardrails, and cryptographic services.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and write high-quality, scalable code to enhance product security or support security functions
- →Lead the technical design of complex, cross-functional security systems
- →Act as a security subject matter expert for other engineering teams
- →Own systems in production and participate in on-call rotations
- →Contribute to the broader security industry through open-source projects and innovation
Requirements
- ✓8+ years of experience building distributed systems, backend services, or infrastructure
- ✓Understanding of security fundamentals including encryption, auth protocols like OIDC/OAuth, and network security
- ✓Ability to think at a system-level and visualize complex dependencies
- ✓Strong communication skills to explain security requirements to product managers and engineers
