About the Role
We are looking for our first AppSec Engineer to own detection, response, and cloud security at PostHog. This is a unique opportunity to build security operations from scratch in a high-growth, open-source company.
Key Responsibilities
- →Triage and tune Wiz alerts to turn noise into actionable findings
- →Lead security incident response and help build IR runbooks
- →Build detection pipelines and close network-based observability gaps
- →Proactively hunt for threats in our AWS environment
- →Support our Vulnerability Disclosure Program and transition toward a formal bug bounty program
- →Provide threat modeling and secure design reviews for product squads
- →Help build our security culture as an enabler for engineers
Requirements
- ✓3-5+ years of experience in security engineering with a heavy focus on AWS
- ✓Strong engineering experience and ability to write code proficiently
- ✓Experience with CSPM/CNAPP tools like Wiz or Prisma
- ✓Proven experience leading incident response
- ✓High autonomy and ability to make decisions without a manual
- ✓Excellent communication skills and attitude to enable engineers rather than limit them
