Location: Fully remote (EMEA timezone) Start date: ASAP Languages: Fluent English required Industry: Cloud Computing / AI / European Deep-Tech SaaS ABOUT THE ROLE Pragmatike is recruiting on behalf of a European deep-tech company building a decentralized, energy-efficient alternative to traditional cloud providers. Their platform operates on distributed bare-metal infrastructure with advanced automation, delivering sovereign, high-performance compute for modern workloads. We are seeking a Senior / Lead iOS Engineer (Staff-level mindset) with strong expertise in building high-performance, scalable mobile applications. This is a highly technical role focused on mobile architecture, performance optimization, and seamless integration with complex backend and distributed systems. You will play a key role in designing and evolving the iOS applications that interface with a next-generation decentralized cloud platform. You will work closely with backend, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver secure, performant, and intuitive mobile experiences. Autonomy, ownership, and strong architectural judgment are essential. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES - Design and develop high-quality iOS applications using Swift and modern iOS frameworks. - Architect scalable, maintainable mobile systems with a strong focus on performance and reliability. - Build responsive, intuitive user interfaces aligned with product and design requirements. - Integrate mobile applications with complex backend APIs and distributed systems. - Ensure robust offline capabilities, synchronization, and efficient network usage. - Optimize applications for performance, battery efficiency, and responsiveness. - Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation. - Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment, contributing to planning and delivery. - Participate in the full mobile development lifecycle, from design to App Store deployment. - Work closely with backend and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless system integration. - Implement security best practices for mobile applications and data handling. - Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and elevate overall mobile engineering quality. - Champion best practices in mobile architecture, CI/CD, and release management. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - 5–6+ years of experience as a Senior or Lead iOS Engineer. - Strong expertise in Swift and iOS SDK. - Experience with modern iOS architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture, or similar). - Deep understanding of mobile performance optimization and memory management. - Strong experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous data flows. - Experience with concurrency (GCD, async/await). - Familiarity with mobile networking, caching, and data persistence strategies. - Experience working in Agile environments. - Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical decisions. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience with SwiftUI and/or UIKit in complex production apps. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and mobile release workflows. - Experience with security best practices (encryption, secure storage, authentication). - Knowledge of distributed systems or cloud-based platforms. - Experience working in deep-tech, infrastructure, or high-performance environments. - Familiarity with observability, logging, and mobile analytics tools.
