About the Role
The Medical Editor is responsible for providing editorial services for pharmaceutical marketing materials, including medical editing, fact checking, and preparing submissions. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadline-sensitive projects.
Key Responsibilities
- →Copy edit projects for correct spelling, grammar, consistency, and style
- →Perform fact checking and clean reads of promotional materials
- →Review client and MLR changes in context of the piece
- →Prepare MLR submissions by tagging and linking in client systems
- →Assume lead editing responsibilities on assigned accounts
- →Represent the department at internal meetings
- →Ensure compliance with client MLR submission processes
- →Collaborate with account teams to improve internal processes
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Life Science, or Regulatory field
- ✓Minimum of 3 years editing experience in medical communication or pharmaceutical industry
- ✓Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- ✓Familiarity with scientific search engines like PubMed and Google Scholar
- ✓Strong proficiency in AMA Style (11th edition)
- ✓Familiarity with MLR requirements and client submission platforms
- ✓High degree of autonomy and team orientation
- ✓Strong written and verbal communication skills
- ✓Ability to prioritize deadline-sensitive projects
