Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) at prosper

We are seeking motivated software engineers to work on our interdisciplinary scrum teams, building large scale systems at Prosper Marketplace. The ideal candidate is passionate about learning the Fintech domain and delivering cutting-edge, high-quality solutions to solve business problems.   Technologies we use: Java, Kotlin, SpringBoot, REST APIs, NodeJs, Microservices, GraphQL, React, Javascript, GCP. This Full Stack role is roughly 70% backend 30% frontend.   This role is a HYBRID opportunity, based two-days a week (Wednesday & Thursday), from either our San Francisco or Phoenix offices. Problems You Will Solve • Design and construct highly scalable, resilient, cloud-native, microservices-based distributed architecture systems. • Develop, maintain, and enhance essential backend and frontend software components • Collaborate with cross-functional product and analytics teams to guide or actively contribute to significant strategic initiatives, while also addressing ongoing operational challenges at scale • Apply engineering expertise within a business framework to generate substantial business value, approaching problems with an operational perspective • Proactively pinpoint gaps, challenges, and requirements within our systems and processes, formulating and implementing robust solutions independently • Facilitate the migration of existing on-premises services to cutting-edge cloud technologies • Collaborate with a team of dedicated, intelligent, and ambitious engineers committed to building large-scale systems at Prosper Marketplace • Contribute to shaping and nurturing our company’s engineering culture, promoting continuous learning and fostering innovation All About You • BS in EE/CS with 8+ years of experience or MS in EE/CS or other applicable disciplines with 6+ years of experience • Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, object-oriented programming, and distributed systems architecture • Proficient in designing and building RESTful services and event-driven systems • Expertise in Authentication and Authorization solutions • Hands-on expertise with Java and experience working with both relational and non-relational databases, such as Firestore, Redis, and MemoryStore • Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging cloud-native architecture and cloud services, particularly in implementing Cloud Functions and architecting Data Flows within GCP or AWS environments • Proficiency in utilizing tools such as Spring Boot, Spring, Hibernate, JPA, and JMS • Fundamental knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript & GraphQL • Proficiency in object-oriented languages such as Java • Preferred experience in React Native or React, and Event Driven Architecture What We Offer • The opportunity to collaborate with a team of creative, fun, and driven colleagues on products that have an immediate and significant impact on people's lives • The opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with experienced industry leaders • Flexible time off, comprehensive health coverage, competitive salary, paid parental leave • Wellness benefits including access to mental health resources, virtual HIIT and yoga workouts • A bevy of other perks including Udemy access, childcare assistance, pet insurance discounts, legal assistance, and additional discounts #LI-AW1 #IND1 About Our Technology Team We are growing our Technology team to support our various financial products.
