THE ROLE You will spearhead the engineering team responsible for redefining how mission-critical data lives in cloud-native and virtualized ecosystems. By leading the development of our next-generation Modern Virtualization platform, you ensure Pure Storage remains the gold standard for Kubernetes, Nutanix, and OpenStack integrations. You will collaborate closely with global Product and Architecture leads to bridge the gap between traditional enterprise storage and the high-velocity world of container orchestration, delivering seamless storage mobility for our largest global customers. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Lead and grow a team of engineers: Working on the OpenShift (Kubernetes), OpenStack and/or Nutanix stacks, building core infrastructure and platform services for FlashArray and FlashBlade. • Architect Platform Excellence: Lead the design and delivery of native Kubernetes (CSI) and virtualization integrations, ensuring high-performance storage automation that enables customers to run stateful applications at scale. • Drive Engineering Velocity: Own the full development lifecycle—from sprint planning to global release—by implementing AI-driven development practices that optimize code quality and team throughput. • Cultivate High-Performance Talent: Build a world-class engineering culture by hiring diverse talent and providing the technical mentorship and career coaching necessary for engineers to solve complex distributed systems problems. • Bridge Global Innovation: Act as a critical nexus between our Bangalore and Santa Clara engineering hubs, aligning technical roadmaps and cross-functional dependencies to ensure a unified product vision. • Champion Product Quality: Partner with QA and Support teams to define and meet rigorous reliability KPIs, ensuring our modern virtualization stack maintains the "always-on" reputation Pure Storage is known for. WHAT YOU BRING • Technical Leadership in Distributed Systems: Proven ability to lead engineering teams through the complexities of cloud-native architectures, container orchestration (Kubernetes), or enterprise virtualization stacks. • Full-Stack Engineering Fluency: Deep technical proficiency in systems programming (such as Go, Java, or C++) with the ability to provide meaningful code reviews and architectural guidance on core infrastructure services. • Strategic Execution: A track record of managing complex project lifecycles and hitting delivery milestones in a fast-paced, collaborative environment across multiple geographies. • People Growth Mindset: Demonstrated experience in building inclusive teams, fostering professional development, and managing performance to help every engineer reach their full potential. • Location: We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Bangalore office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
