About the Role
The Network Operations Network Engineer III is a key element within the Rackspace Infrastructure team, providing technical expertise to ensure the uptime and maintenance of critical networking systems. This role involves taking ownership of complex network issues and ensuring their resolution or proper documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- →Provide technical expertise for critical networking systems
- →Take ownership of complex network issues and ensure resolution
- →Create training and mentoring opportunities for other engineers
- →Improve technology, tools, processes, and training for the team
- →Troubleshoot latency, packet loss, and poor performance
- →Respond to DDoS attacks
- →Identify and resolve switch and router hardware and software failures
- →Plan and conduct complex maintenances to ensure standardization and uptime
- →Manage Internet providers and connectivity
Requirements
- ✓At least 5 years of recent networking experience
- ✓CCIE-level aptitude
- ✓Minimum of 12 months of experience in a customer service role
- ✓Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ✓Critical thinking skills and ability to provide solutions under pressure
- ✓Schedule flexibility to include working weekends and holidays
- ✓Experience with Cisco networking, Juniper firewalls, and Zscaler
