About the Team
The Strategic Finance team at Miro exists to turn data into decisions. We sit at the intersection of finance, strategy, and operations—partnering with leaders across the company to set ambitious targets, pressure-test big bets, and find the smartest places to invest the next dollar. We combine external market signals with deep internal analysis to help Miro grow faster, smarter, and more efficiently.
Within Strategic Finance, the Marketing & Self Service pillar is the financial brain trust for the spend and revenue motion that brings the majority of Miro’s new customers to the product. From paid media and brand to the Self-Service funnel that turns sign-ups into paying customers, every dollar invested here shapes how fast and efficiently we grow. As AI reshapes both how marketing is executed and how customers self-serve their way to value, these decisions have never carried more weight. We’re building a function that doesn’t just report on spend, but actively shapes where it goes.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Strategic Finance Manager, Marketing & Self Service to be the dedicated finance partner to our Marketing leadership team and the leaders driving our Self-Service/PLG motion. This role is designed for someone who is equal parts strategist, analyst, and operator—comfortable building a CAC/LTV model from a blank sheet in the morning and challenging an SVP on the ROI of a brand investment in the afternoon.
You will own the financial story of how Miro acquires and monetizes customers end-to-end. You’ll bring rigor to how we prioritize investments, build the unit economics that explain how our marketing pays back, and partner with leaders to systematically optimize where every dollar lands. Crucially, you will be a strong AI-native operator, utilizing advanced AI tools to automate repetitive analysis, accelerate model builds, and turn hours of manual reporting into minutes.
You see a noisy spreadsheet as an opportunity, not a chore. You believe great finance partnering is built on credibility. And you’re genuinely curious about how modern marketing and self-service motions are built, scaled, and made efficient.
What you’ll do
• Marketing & Self Service Financial Planning: Own the end-to-end planning, forecasting, and monthly close commentary—including headcount, marketing program, and funnel P&L drivers—with a high bar for forecast accuracy.
• CAC, LTV & Marketing Unit Economics: Build the payback and ROAS models that explain efficiency at the channel level, partnering with Marketing Analytics on a unified view of marketing’s impact on pipeline and revenue.
• Self Service / PLG Economics: Model the funnel from sign-up through paid conversion; partner with Growth and Product leaders to size opportunities and translate performance into a clear financial story.
• Investment Cases & Strategic Support: Build the financial cases behind major bets (channel shifts, brand investments, pricing changes) and bring a clear recommendation to the table.
• AI-Powered Finance Operations: Act as a leading voice on how to use AI to work smarter—automating variance analysis and modeling workflows, while partnering with Marketing on how AI is reshaping campaign execution.
• Headcount Strategy: Partner with leadership and People Operations to model headcount, building capacity scenarios that balance velocity with financial discipline.
• Executive Reporting: Prepare board and ELT materials that translate complex marketing and PLG economics into clear, actionable stories.
What you’ll need
• 6–8 years in strategy/management consulting, investment banking, strategic FP&A, BizOps, or corporate strategy, ideally with exposure to a high-growth SaaS or PLG business.
• Advanced financial modeling skills (forecasting, scenario analysis, unit economics) and the ability to triangulate insights across messy data.
• Strong AI-native capabilities, with a proven ability or deep interest in using AI tools to streamline finance workflows, accelerate reporting, and analyze data faster.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with senior commercial stakeholders (marketing, growth, sales) and influencing decisions without authority.
• Deep familiarity with marketing efficiency (CAC, LTV, ROAS) and Self-Service/freemium economics.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of distilling complex financial topics into a one-pager an SVP can immediately act on.
• Bias to action and comfort with ambiguity; you frame the problem yourself before solving it.
