About the Role
We are looking for a Battery Test Engineer to join ALSO, an electric mobility company focused on creating innovative, vertically integrated small EVs. This role involves building, testing, and analyzing failures in next-generation batteries for light electric vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build and test prototype battery packs for light electric vehicles
- →Evaluate and improve battery safety with a focus on passive propagation resistance
- →Collaborate with design, systems, and reliability engineers to generate test plans
- →Execute thermal, electrical, reliability, durability, and safety testing
- →Set up and operate test equipment including DAQs and various sensors
- →Analyze test results and prepare technical summaries
- →Support maintenance and calibration of test equipment
- →Travel to visit test vendors up to 15% of the time
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- ✓Strong understanding of lithium ion battery construction and failure modes
- ✓Expertise in lab testing equipment including PPR/thermal runaway systems
- ✓Understanding of data acquisition systems and experience with Python or MATLAB
- ✓Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent documentation skills
