About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Brokerage Platform team at Robinhood. This role involves leveraging AI models to design, build, and operate distributed systems that power trading, market data, clearing, and accounting - the core building blocks of Robinhood's products.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, build, and maintain backend services that support trading, market data, clearing, or brokerage infrastructure at scale
- →Write production-quality code with a focus on reliability, performance, and clear operational behavior in distributed systems
- →Partner with engineers across infrastructure and product teams to deliver stable platforms and well-defined APIs
- →Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and on-call rotations to help keep critical systems healthy and resilient
- →Improve existing systems by addressing performance bottlenecks, scaling constraints, and operational risks
Requirements
- ✓Professional experience building and operating backend systems using languages such as Go, Java, or Kotlin
- ✓Comfortable working with distributed real-time and data processing systems, data pipelines, and service-oriented architectures
- ✓Approach problems methodically, balancing correctness, performance, and maintainability
- ✓Communicate clearly in technical discussions and value thoughtful design and peer feedback
- ✓Motivated by working on systems where reliability and data accuracy directly affect customer trust
