About the Role
We are looking for a 3D Artist to join our team at Roblox. This role involves co-developing new games and experiences with AAA partners, working from prototyping to primary preproduction, and guiding partners through their production cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- →Be a subject matter expert on environment art creation, including foliage, props, architectural, and weapons.
- →Collaborate with artists and engineers to bring content into engine for prototypes and assist in early production of a game.
- →Work alongside AAA developers, provide technical support, and solve problems across the character pipeline.
- →Evaluate internal workflows and tools to develop a perspective on areas of critical investment and bring knowledge of industry best practices to the team.
- →Work with leads on Game Solutions to advocate for the most impactful features or technology improvements with senior leadership in Roblox.
- →Partner with community engagement and documentation teams to build tutorials and sample content when necessary.
Requirements
- ✓A Bachelor’s degree or proven experience in a related CG field or computer science
- ✓6+ years experience in the game industry, worked on titles on multiple platforms (mobile a plus)
- ✓Envision extensible and efficient methods for 3D content creation in a game environment
- ✓Strong understanding of modern real-time engines, including performance optimization
- ✓High proficiency and expertise in texturing, modeling, materials, and lighting (level design experience a plus)
- ✓Strong emphasis on creative problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- ✓Familiarity with Substance Designer, Painter, Maya, and Blender
