What you'll be doing • Develop models to extend voice support to languages other than English. • Design and implement language support for new Roku features and functionality. • Collect and analyze spoken and written language data to improve our models, capturing a wide variety of expressions in rule-based or machine-learned systems. • Maintain existing systems, recognizing issues and applying the right tools to debug and solve problems. You are required to have • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Linguistics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field. • 5 years progressive experience in position, as a NLM Engineer, NLP Engineer, Speech and Language Analyst, Analytical Linguist, or related occupation. • Will also accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Linguistics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field plus 3 years of experience in position, as a NLM Engineer, NLP Engineer, Speech and Language Analyst, Analytical Linguist, or related occupation. • Must have at least 2 years of prior work experience in each of the following: • Spoken natural language applications • Core linguistics: semantics, syntax, morphology, phonology, phonetics, discourse and dialogue • Rule-based grammars and machine learning for NLP • Cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing large natural language data sets • Scripting programming languages • Version control and collaborative software development Telecommuting permitted: may work at various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. The annual salary for this position for CA only is $212,500 - $225,250. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.
