About the Role

Roku is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their TV Technology Software team. This role involves developing video post-processing software and enabling new features for Roku TVs. The engineer will work on scalable solutions for multiple Roku TV platforms and support ongoing video processing projects.

Key Responsibilities

→Design, develop, and maintain software for Linux-based TV systems
→Work on drivers, middleware, and application layers for seamless integration of picture quality and display features
→Implement algorithms and solutions for video/image post-processing enhancement
→Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end system performance
→Debug and resolve system-level issues
→Use tools like Git, JIRA, and CI/CD pipelines for code management and tracking
→Prepare technical documentation and report progress to stakeholders

Requirements

✓Hands-on experience with embedded systems development, preferably in the TV or related consumer electronics industry
✓Proficiency in Linux operating system internals, including device drivers, kernel modules, and user-space programming
✓Strong programming skills in C/C++ and scripting languages like Python or Shell
✓Background in video/image post-processing
✓Familiarity with hardware interfaces and protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, HDMI)
✓Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
✓Excellent communication and collaboration skills
✓Adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies
✓Knowledge of SoC architectures used in multimedia devices is a plus
✓Experience in GPU/CPU acceleration for video processing is a plus
