About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Identity team at Samba TV in Amsterdam. The Identity team builds and operates core systems for cross-device identity resolution, data onboarding, and distribution capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and distribution of identity-linked data
- →Develop ETL/ELT workflows using distributed computing frameworks on cloud infrastructure
- →Design and build API-first services that expose processed identity data to internal and external consumers
- →Implement data quality validation, monitoring, and observability for owned components
- →Contribute to platform-grade, reusable components enabling self-service consumption of Identity capabilities
- →Take end-to-end ownership of key components within identity resolution systems
- →Design and implement privacy-compliant data handling practices
- →Engage cross-functional stakeholders to ensure systems support downstream use cases
- →Drive technical design for components, producing clear design documents
- →Conduct rigorous code reviews and uphold high standards for code quality
- →Mentor engineers on the team through structured feedback and design review
- →Collaborate across adjacent teams and advocate for shared standards
- →Own the reliability of components end-to-end, monitor health, and respond to incidents
- →Participate in on-call rotations and improve operational practices
- →Drive improvements to CI/CD pipelines and testing coverage
Requirements
- ✓8+ years of professional software engineering experience with focus on data engineering
- ✓Proficient in Python and SQL; comfortable with JavaScript
- ✓Strong hands-on experience with distributed processing frameworks
- ✓Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP)
- ✓Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools
- ✓Familiarity with data warehousing and lakehouse technologies
- ✓Solid understanding of data privacy regulations
- ✓Familiarity with platform-thinking and API-first service design
- ✓Clear communicator and cross-functional collaborator
- ✓Active mentor with experience giving direct feedback
- ✓Preferred
- ✓Experience with streaming data processing frameworks
- ✓Experience incorporating AI and machine learning capabilities
- ✓Exposure to ad tech, identity resolution, or digital media
