About the Role
We are seeking a Java Backend Architect to lead the design and development of core backend services for our multi-tenant platform. This role involves architecting scalable solutions, optimizing platform components, and driving modernization of backend services.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead the design, development, and scalability of core Java-based backend services
- →Architect and optimize platform components for high-throughput, low-latency workflows
- →Integrate and manage core data systems including relational DBs, Redis, Elasticsearch, and LDAP
- →Drive modernization of backend services, refactoring legacy components and adopting modern patterns
- →Champion best practices for Java development, testing, observability, and deployment
- →Collaborate with DevOps, Security, SRE, and Application Engineering teams
- →Evaluate and implement scalable solutions for authentication, authorization, and tenant isolation
- →Mentor engineers on Java design principles and debugging complex issues
- →Develop and maintain platform APIs and service orchestration logic
- →Identify and remediate bottlenecks in Java services and JVM performance
- →Build automation and guardrails for developer productivity and service reliability
- →Partner with architecture and leadership to drive technical strategy
Requirements
- ✓10+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on Java, Spring Boot, and distributed system design
- ✓Proven track record of building scalable backend platforms supporting millions of users
- ✓Deep understanding of Java ecosystem, JVM internals, memory management, and performance tuning
- ✓Hands-on experience with data systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, and LDAP
- ✓Experience with multi-tenant architectures, including isolation and resource control
- ✓Strong experience in building RESTful APIs, microservices, and platform-level abstractions
- ✓Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS or other cloud providers
- ✓Knowledge of observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and log management
- ✓Experience integrating authentication and identity providers into Java services
- ✓Strong command of DevOps and automation practices including CI/CD, GitOps, and IaC tools
- ✓Proven leadership in cross-team collaboration, mentoring, and architectural direction
- ✓Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
