About the Role
We are looking for a Symfony Backend Developer to join Scaleway's Dedibox Compute Foundation team. This role involves modernizing and scaling legacy backend systems while ensuring production excellence in a critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- →Develop and maintain backend features using Symfony (PHP 7+)
- →Ensure application maintenance in operational conditions in production
- →Debug and resolve production incidents in high-availability environments
- →Contribute to the progressive modernization of a legacy monolith toward modular/microservices architectures
- →Improve application performance and resilience
- →Manage deployments through CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI)
- →Work with Docker and DevOps tooling in distributed environments
- →Collaborate closely with SRE, hardware, support, and billing teams
- →Participate in the on-call rotation after onboarding
Requirements
- ✓Minimum 5+ years of backend experience with significant production experience in Symfony
- ✓Strong expertise in PHP 7+ and Symfony in critical production environments
- ✓Solid experience maintaining and evolving legacy applications
- ✓Hands-on experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitLab CI)
- ✓Good knowledge of distributed systems and Linux server environments
- ✓Strong production mindset with a culture of availability and resilience
- ✓Autonomous and able to quickly take ownership of a broad technical scope
- ✓Pragmatic and comfortable working with legacy systems while driving modernization
- ✓Adaptable and capable of switching contexts efficiently
- ✓Strong cross-team communication skills
