About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop gearbox systems for gas turbine engines. This role involves detailed mechanical design and analytical studies to ensure compliance with specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and develop gearbox systems for gas turbine engines
- →Design gas turbine components for the powerhead, LRUs, and other equipment
- →Perform detailed mechanical design including gear geometry, housing, bearings, seals, shafts, and lubrication systems
- →Conduct analytical studies (load analysis, thermal, FEA, fatigue) to ensure mechanical integrity and performance
- →Prepare and review engineering documentation including 3D models, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- →Support testing and validation of the gearbox components and systems
- →Participate in root cause investigations and provide corrective actions
- →Interface with suppliers and subcontractors for build to print and build to specification components
- →Follow-up with other engineering groups to assure design performs as specified
- →Coordinate with other engineering and company departments to achieve optimization of the design
Requirements
- ✓Strong background in mechanical design and gas turbine systems
- ✓Experience with FEA and analytical studies
- ✓Proficiency in 3D modeling and technical documentation
- ✓Ability to work with suppliers and cross-functional teams
- ✓Knowledge of airworthiness specifications and industry standards
