Head of Growth
Full-Time β’ Denver or Seattle β’ Reports to CEO
About Scholarly
Scholarly is building the next generation of AI-powered software for higher education with a faculty-first focus. As institutions face a wave of digital transformation, our mission is to become the AI-native system of record for faculty data and workflows. Our platform unifies fragmented workflows into a single, intelligent system-powering annual reviews, promotion & tenure, appointment tracking, faculty accomplishments, and more, while eliminating manual processes and improving decision-making for institutions.
Weβre a mission-driven, product-focused team shaping the future of higher education. Weβre growing fast and looking for people who want to build something meaningful.
The Role
Weβre looking for a Head of Growth to build and run Scholarlyβs marketing and demand generation engine. This is a hands-on role that spans content creation, event marketing, paid acquisition, and growth analytics. Youβll be responsible for generating awareness and qualified pipeline that our sales team converts into customers. Youβll work directly with the CEO and collaborate closely with our account executives to accelerate Scholarlyβs expansion across higher education.
This is the right fit for someone who thrives as a player-coach: equally comfortable setting strategy and writing the blog post, building the campaign, or analyzing the funnel themselves. As we scale, youβll have the opportunity to build and lead a marketing team around you.
What Youβll Do
Demand Generation
- Plan and run webinars, virtual events, and conference activations targeting university administrators, provosts, and faculty affairs leaders
- Build and manage paid acquisition campaigns across digital channels, optimizing for cost-per-lead and pipeline contribution
- Experiment with new pipeline sources and creative approaches to reach higher education decision-makers
Content
- Develop and maintain a content calendar that keeps Scholarly visible and relevant in the higher education space
- Write and produce blog posts, case studies, whitepapers, and thought leadership pieces
- Turn customer insights and success stories into compelling marketing assets
Growth & Analytics
- Own marketing analytics and attribution. Track whatβs working, cut what isnβt, and double down on high-performing channels
- Work directly with our sales team to improve lead quality, handoff processes, and conversion rates
- Continuously optimize messaging, positioning, and campaign performance based on data
Market Intelligence
- Stay close to the market-monitor competitors, trends in higher ed technology, and evolving institutional needs
- Channel prospect and customer feedback into product development to sharpen our competitive edge
- Identify partnership and co-marketing opportunities that can amplify Scholarlyβs reach
Who You Are
- 5+ years of experience in growth marketing, demand generation, or B2B marketing roles, ideally in a SaaS or AI context
- Demonstrated track record of building pipeline through marketing, not just reporting on it
- Fluent with modern AI and marketing tools, and eager to adopt new ones - you see automation and AI as force multipliers.
- Strong writer and storyteller who can create compelling content for different audiences and formats
- Hands-on experience running paid campaigns, events, and content programs
- Analytical and data-driven, with experience using marketing automation, CRM, and analytics tools
- Self-starter who thrives in early-stage environments with ambiguity and fast iteration
- Experience in higher education, EdTech, or marketing to institutional buyers is a strong plus
- Bachelorβs degree required
Why Join Scholarly
- Shape the growth function from the ground floor of a fast-growing, mission-driven company
- Work directly with the founding team and have real impact on company trajectory
- $130,000 - $170,000 salary depending on experience
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Equity in a fast-growing startup
- Modern office environment with hybrid in-person culture
- Supportive, collaborative, and inclusive team
