tl;dr - Our Product Design team is looking for an SF-based teammate who can help create outstanding products for Scribe’s 4 million users! We’re searching for someone with a strong bias for action who can partner with PM and Engineering to plan, design, build, and ship great experiences by influencing key UX decisions and designing for business impact.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Scribe is seeking a Product Designer to help shape an increasingly AI-powered product, from how workflows get captured to how knowledge gets surfaced and acted on. You'll be accountable for outcomes, not just artifacts.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Designing & shipping core features. You'll start by owning a specific area of the product focused on Scribe’s AI recording capabilities and develop deep expertise there, while also being expected to flex across the broader product as needs arise.
- Working with PMs, engineers, and other designers to challenge assumptions, define the right problems, explore and validate solutions, and ship product experiences that change customer behavior.
- Becoming the voice of the customer by talking with users to understand their needs and goals and channeling that into the designs.
- Working closely with your PM counterpart to understand the company strategy and OKRs and positively influence the roadmap to drive maximum business impact.
- Thoughtfully using AI to increase velocity and quality in your work, whether using a tool like Magic Patterns to prototype a design concept for alignment with stakeholders or Claude to surface risks and edge cases for an initial approach.
- Partnering closely with engineers and ship together. Designers at Scribe use Cursor to ship visual and interaction changes alongside their engineering peers.
- Collaborating closely with your design peers to receive and provide feedback to raise the bar on everything we build.

ABOUT YOU
You’d be a great fit for this role, if you:
- Are curious about our users and love chasing the “why, why, why” to deeply understand their issues and obsess over creative designs to solve them.
- Thrive in autonomy. You enjoy shaping the product, not just shipping it. You don’t necessarily need a PRD to get started with your design explorations.
- Bias for action. You don't wait for someone to show you how. When you hit an unknown, you figure it out. You'll spin up a new AI tool, run an experiment, or try a different approach until something clicks. You're self-directed by default.
- Have 3+ years of experience designing multi-platform products (web, mobile, and/or desktop), ideally with complex or enterprise-grade use cases and in a startup environment.
- Care about the details. You pride yourself on delivering the best end-to-end user experience and would never say “improving that is out of scope for this project”.
- Outcomes over output. You thrive on creating user value and know when to follow a multi-step design framework v/s when to deploy a napkin sketch to unblock the team.
- Think big and deliver incrementally. You love dreaming of “big ideas,” but balance that by designing incremental experiences for our users at a high velocity.
- Strong POV. You can discern good products from great, and stakeholders rely on you to be the “taste test” for great designs.
- Strong bias for using AI. You actively use LLMs such as Claude or ChatGPT in your design workflow and can work in tools Cursor or Claude Code, even if you are not writing production code by hand.
Bonus Points
- Desktop and/or browser extension experience (especially high-usage, always-on surfaces)
- Exposure to AI-powered features or workflows, even if not the primary focus of the role
