About the Role
We are looking for a Principal Staff Engineer to join SEEK's Platforms area. This role involves providing technical leadership for a major platform area and serving as a trusted advisor within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead technical direction discussions for a major platform area with key stakeholders, aligning on target architecture, priorities and trade-offs.
- →Unblock hard problems by deep diving on complex technical issues and guiding teams to sound solutions.
- →Raise the bar on platform engineering by defining standards, guardrails and paved paths, and evolving the platform with modern practices.
- →Shape and steer the roadmap with engineering and product leadership, aligning to business priorities while balancing near-term delivery with long-term technical health.
- →Grow technical leadership by coaching Staff/Senior Staff engineers and uplifting technical capability across the Platforms space.
- →Support AI-enabled uplift by partnering with AI productivity teams and embedding transformative practices into engineering workflows.
- →Stay hands-on where it matters by leading design reviews, pairing with teams on critical problems, and contributing key changes to unblock progress.
Requirements
- ✓Technical authority in a major platform area
- ✓Experience providing technical leadership and unblocking complex challenges
- ✓Ability to lift engineering standards across multiple teams
- ✓Strong collaboration skills with engineering, product, architecture, security, and AI & data leaders
- ✓Experience with modern engineering practices, patterns and tooling
- ✓Understanding of platform services and technical strategy alignment
