Job OverviewÂ
Sequel Med Tech is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to partner directly with Marketing, Product, and Business stakeholders to build and operate our marketing and related web experience stack. You will partner with Staff Engineers to support engineering across Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), CMS platforms (Webflow), and data pipelines/analytics, ensuring reliable delivery, accurate measurement, and compliant handling of customer data. (Technologies such as AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, Journey Builder, Marketing Intelligence and Personalization, Automation Studio are core to the role.)Â

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare for people living with diabetes, working directly with our product teams as a subject matter expert on feature design and implementation. Â
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
• Build and maintain SFMC assets following established patterns; contribute improvements; deliver features with high reliability.
• In partnership with more senior engineers, implement SFMC integrations with upstream and downstream systems (e.g. CRM, CDP, Data Lakehouse/Snowflake) via API’s, connectors, ETL/ELT jobs and eventing; maintain and monitor data flows; troubleshoot issues.
• In collaboration with Marketing Operations, implement and monitor deliverability best practices (SPF/DKM/DMARC) preference management, list hygiene, bounce/complaint handling, and email-safe templating patterns.
• Build and maintain landing pages, reusable components and secure lead capture forms in WordPress/Drupal/Webflow; ensure performance and accessibility; follow templates and standards.
• Implement tracking and analytics instrumentation; support experimentation setup.
• Partner with BI/Data to model audiences, segments and funnels; build campaign dashboards and “always on” metrics (open/click/convert, sendability, retention, LTV) with clear QA gates.
• Follow compliance guidelines and implement compliant solutions.
• Implement secure coding practices; follow established processes.
• Participate in reviews, provide input, mentor junior teammates occasionally.
• Translate requirements into solutions with support from Staff-level leaders.
• Project-level ownership (features, flows, campaigns).
• Works independently on well-scoped work; escalates complex architectural questions.
• Engineer solutions that meet CANSPAM, GDPR/CCPA, and HIPAA expectations where applicable; follow Sequel SDLC, documentation, and audit guardrails (e.g., Part 11/GxP as required by process).
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering
• 3+ years of experience with hands-on enterprise email marketing platforms (SFMC preferred)
• 3+ years of experience implementing SFMC solutions: delivering components, journeys, automations and pages.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Experience with building Pages, Microsites, Forms and form Processing
• Strong HTML/CSS (email), JavaScript, AMPscript/SSJS, SQL skills
• Familiar with MC API’s, SFTP and AMPscript
• Follows CI/CD, version control and test automation
• CMS expertise in WordPress and Drupal (Webflow a plus); experience building secure forms and landing pages
• Production experience integrating marketing platforms with CRM/CDP/data lakes; strong data modeling and ETL/ELT skills
• Knowledge of SQL with complex data extensions, data views and relationships in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
