About the Role
The Operations Manager will oversee daily business operations for SGS Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) laboratory, focusing on analysis quality and sample throughput. This role requires strong leadership to manage staff, instrumentation, and client services while maintaining industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- →Profitably manage day-to-day laboratory operations in line with budget targets
- →Ensure effective business operations including housekeeping, HR, safety, quality, security, and environmental practices
- →Demonstrate good leadership through planning, delegation, and empowering subordinates
- →Manage staff and instrumentation resources to maximize sample throughput
- →Implement best practices to maximize operational efficiency and maintain data quality
- →Work with technical staff to resolve client service and technical issues
- →Motivate employees and hold them accountable against performance objectives
- →Perform regular visits throughout the laboratory
- →Work with support groups on budgets, HR planning, and instrumentation use
- →Ensure compliance with industry and customer standards
- →Manage people and performance daily
- →Promote a strong culture of safe laboratory practices
- →Implement top-level strategy in laboratory locations
- →Ensure appropriate staffing levels and proper staff training
- →Perform other duties as required
