Key Responsibilities
- →Perform screening and diagnostic mammography examinations in compliance with ACR, MQSA, and facility protocols
- →Position patients accurately and ensure proper breast compression for optimal imaging results
- →Operate and maintain mammography equipment and image processing systems
- →Monitor image quality and ensure proper documentation and labeling of images
- →Assist radiologists in special procedures including breast ultrasound, biopsies, or localization
- →Coordinate daily workflow and technologist assignments to ensure efficiency and coverage
- →Provide hands-on training and mentorship to students during clinical rotations
- →Maintain continuing education and certification requirements in compliance with regulations
- →Participate in quality assurance and equipment maintenance programs
- →Practice radiation safety and infection control standards at all times
Requirements
- ✓Associate’s degree or equivalent from an accredited radiologic technology program
- ✓Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in mammography, with at least 1 year in leadership role preferred
- ✓Current certification by ARRT in Radiography (R) and advanced certification in Mammography (M)
- ✓Current state radiologic technologist license (if applicable per state)
- ✓Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ✓Expertise knowledge of mammographic procedures, anatomy, and positioning techniques
- ✓Expertise with MQSA, ACR, and HIPAA regulations and compliance standards
- ✓Proficiency in operating digital-tomography mammography equipment, RIS and PACS systems
- ✓Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills
- ✓Ability to train, mentor, and evaluate staff effectively
