About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to join our remote-first team at Smart Working. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, real-time Android applications for major global airlines, fuel suppliers, and airports.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, build, and maintain advanced Android applications using Java and Kotlin
- →Develop refined user interfaces and complex business logic integrated with backend systems
- →Write clean, extensible, and well-tested code, ensuring high test coverage
- →Architect and implement new features, clearly communicating technical approaches
- →Propose and deliver improvements to application architecture, development practices, and tooling
- →Take ownership of feature delivery, including estimation, implementation, testing, and release
- →Work independently across the codebase while collaborating effectively within a Scrum team
- →Review code produced by peers, promoting high standards of quality and testability
- →Collaborate closely with Android and iOS engineers, testers, product managers, and other stakeholders
Requirements
- ✓4+ years of professional Android development experience with Java
- ✓3+ years of commercial experience building Android applications with Kotlin
- ✓Strong experience with the Android SDK, including lifecycle management and performance considerations
- ✓3+ years experience writing and maintaining automated tests with JUnit or Espresso
- ✓Experience using Gradle for build configuration and dependency management
- ✓Proven ability to deliver clear, testable, and maintainable code in production environments
- ✓Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams, consistently meeting delivery commitments
- ✓Ability to assess the impact of code changes across the application and communicate those impacts clearly
- ✓Comfortable working autonomously while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
