This role suits someone comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, with strong ownership and the ability to contribute at both a technical and product level.</p> </div> Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js • Build and scale microservices-based architectures to support evolving product needs • Develop and integrate APIs and GraphQL services • Work with databases such as MongoDB to manage and optimise data models • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features end-to-end • Contribute to system design, architecture decisions, and technical direction • Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and best engineering practices • Leverage AI tooling (e.g. coding assistants, automation tools) to improve development efficiency • Optimise application performance, scalability, and reliability • Participate in the full SDLC, from planning and design through to deployment and iteration Requirements • 7+ years total software engineering experience, delivering scalable, production-grade applications in a senior capacity • React (3+ years) – experience building performant, component-driven, and responsive user interfaces • TypeScript (3+ years) – strong use of typing to ensure maintainable, scalable, and reliable codebases • Node.js (3+ years) – experience developing scalable backend services and APIs in asynchronous environments • Microservices Architecture (3+ years) – experience designing and working with distributed systems and service-based architectures • AI Tooling / AI-assisted Development (6+ months) – practical use of tools like Copilot or similar to improve development speed and quality • GraphQL (1+ year) – experience designing or consuming GraphQL APIs and working with schemas and queries • MongoDB (1+ year) – experience working with NoSQL databases, including schema design and query optimisation • Strong experience building scalable, production-grade applications with a focus on reliability • Solid understanding of modern full stack architecture and system design principles • Experience working across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) • Ability to work independently and contribute to technical decision-making • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams Nice to Have • Experience working in high-growth or product-focused environments • Exposure to cloud platforms and deployment practices • Experience with API design best practices and distributed systems • Familiarity with additional databases or backend technologies Benefits • Fixed Shifts: 12:00 PM - 9:30 PM IST (Summer) | 1:00 PM - 10:30 PM IST (Winter) • No Weekend Work: Real work-life balance, not just words • Day 1 Benefits: Laptop and full medical insurance provided • Support That Matters:Mentorship, community, and forums where ideas are shared • True Belonging: A long-term career where your contributions are valued At Smart Working, you’ll never be just another remote hire.
