About the Role

We are looking for a Software Developer to join our remote-first team at Smart Working. This role focuses on building and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs that support long-term product development.

Key Responsibilities

→Design, develop, and maintain backend services using TypeScript and PHP (Symfony)
→Build and consume APIs, ensuring they are reliable, secure, and well-documented
→Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of existing systems and services
→Collaborate with other engineers to deliver features aligned with product and technical goals
→Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following engineering best practices
→Support deployments and ongoing operation of services in a cloud-based environment
→Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and technical improvements as part of ongoing development

Requirements

✓3+ years of professional experience with TypeScript in a production environment
✓3+ years of experience with PHP, including hands-on work with Symfony
✓1+ year of experience designing and working with APIs
✓Experience building and maintaining backend services for long-term products
✓Familiarity with cloud-based development and deployment concepts
✓Ability to work collaboratively within an engineering team while taking ownership of assigned work
