About the role
SoFi is launching a weekly crypto newsletter for everyday investors interested in crypto ownership, long-term investing, and the future of finance. We are seeking a Deputy Editor to lead this editorial franchise and serve as a primary crypto editorial voice for SoFi β overseeing the newsletter's voice, curation, aesthetic, and execution, while also developing a broader portfolio of crypto education content across formats.
This is an opportunity to build a unique editorial franchise at the first and only nationally chartered bank where consumers can bank, borrow, invest, and buy, sell, and hold crypto.
This role is ideal for a journalist with deep crypto subject matter expertise β someone who can report authoritatively on markets, regulation, and infrastructure β and the editorial instincts to translate that expertise into a must-read weekly. Equally important is a fluency with AI-assisted tools: you'll design and operate workflows that use AI to accelerate research, sourcing, and production, while ensuring every word published is human-reported, human-written, and human-edited. This is not an AI-generated newsletter. It's a human one, built by someone who knows how to use every tool available.
SoFiβs mission is to help people get their money right. The Educational Content teamβs role is to show them how through content thatβs credible, relatable, and empowering. We believe financial literacy unlocks ambition, and we build resources that help members feel confident about both their money and the products they use to manage it.
This is a full-time contract position.

β’ Collaborate with internal teams to identify content gaps and develop resources that help SoFi members understand crypto and make confident investing decisions

Build AI-enabled editorial workflows
β’ Design and operate editorial workflows that use AI to accelerate research, idea generation, and production β with every output reviewed, rewritten, and owned by you. All content is 100% human-written and edited; AI is a production tool, not a co-author.
β’ Leverage data and your own creativity to drive experiments with new formats and features to improve newsletter quality and performance
What youβll need
Deep crypto subject matter expertise
β’ Expertise in crypto markets, blockchain infrastructure, and digital asset investing
β’ Knowledge of regulation, stablecoins, custody, DeFi, and institutional adoption

AI-native editorial mindset
β’ Commitment to maintaining the highest editorial standards
