About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to join SoFi’s Bank Platform organization. You’ll own our Transaction Data Platform, the central transactional infrastructure hub, while working closely with the Account Services team. This role is at the forefront of the company's most consequential technical transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead the Transaction Platform engineering squad through the full development lifecycle, with direct accountability for banking core modernization
- →Own the technical roadmap and execution for the Transaction Platform, including real-time event replication pipelines and streaming transaction aggregation
- →Establish a clear technical vision for the squad and guide senior architects
- →Serve as the primary stakeholder interface for partner teams, ensuring alignment and honoring commitments
- →Translate high-level OKRs into executable objectives and drive structured planning cycles
- →Identify and mitigate technical and delivery risks, maintaining accountability
- →Grow the team by understanding hiring needs and defining assessment criteria
- →Define growth plans for each engineer and invest in coaching and development
- →Drive innovation and the next chapter of our banking infrastructure
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in a technical field
- ✓5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating scalable, mission-critical distributed systems
- ✓4+ years of engineering management experience, including leading senior individual contributors and tech leads
- ✓Demonstrated platform-building expertise
- ✓Strong technical depth in event-driven systems, streaming pipelines, API design, and complex data models
- ✓Proven record of cross-functional execution in ambiguous environments
- ✓Experience hiring, developing, and retaining strong engineering talent
- ✓Willingness to roll up your sleeves and hold yourself and the team to a high standard
- ✓Strong sense of ownership, driving programs from inception through delivery
