About the Role
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Chat engineering team at SoFi. This role involves developing an intelligent, conversational AI-powered chat interface to support members' financial journeys and provide personalized financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- →Drive technical architecture, design decisions, and cross-functional discussions
- →Deliver highly available and scalable services in a production environment
- →Lead the design, development, and testing of systems
- →Lead code and system design reviews
- →Help translate product requirements into user stories and technical solutions
- →Mentor other engineers and support the technical culture
- →Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies
- →Communicate with project leads, product managers, and other software developers
- →Demonstrate high levels of technical knowledge and creativity
- →Take initiative and produce timely results in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or relevant work experience
- ✓6+ years programming experience, ideally on a modern stack
- ✓4+ years Java or Kotlin programming experience
- ✓Strong understanding of relational databases and ORMs
- ✓Experience with SOA or microservice-based applications
- ✓Experience with asynchronous systems and event-based systems
- ✓Strong sense of ownership and ability to drive projects from inception to completion
- ✓Pragmatic approach towards handling tech debt versus shipping new features
- ✓Experience working in a collaborative coding environment
