About the Role
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join Sopra Steria Polska and one of our innovative international squads located in Belgium and Poland. You will play a pivotal role in the delivery of our database services across cloud and on-premises environments.
Key Responsibilities
- →Collaborate with team members to write efficient, reusable, and maintainable code
- →Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing services by identifying opportunities for optimization
- →Write unit tests and integration tests where necessary to increase confidence during development and deployment
- →Collaborate with team members to build, maintain, and optimize pipelines for database service automation code in GitLab
- →Develop and manage Kubernetes Custom Resource Definitions (XRDs) and utilize crossplane to deploy databases across cloud and on-prem environments
- →Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting to automate environment provisioning, configuration, patching, backups, DR testing, and routine operational tasks
- →Suggest and implement automation of deployment and configuration tasks, including automated deployment strategies
- →Document infrastructure, code, scripts, and configurations to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer
- →Administer and automate Oracle and PostgreSQL operational tasks, including migrations, backups/restores, replication, upgrades, and performance tuning
Requirements
- ✓Experience with Python, Oracle, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Kubernetes
- ✓Knowledge of database administration and operations
- ✓Understanding of cloud and on-premises environments
- ✓Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools
- ✓Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies
- ✓Strong scripting skills
- ✓Experience with database migrations, backups, and performance tuning
- ✓EU citizenship required for this position
