BUSINESS OPERATIONS ANALYST (STARLINK AVIATION)
Starlink, our revolutionary satellite constellation, will deliver low-latency broadband internet worldwide. As an Business Operations Analyst within the Starlink program, you will develop advanced insights and actionable data to advise internal business leaders on critical trends and operational needs for the companyβs enterprise and government teams. You will create high-impact, efficient, and economical solutions by transforming complex internal data into clear, strategic recommendations.
We are looking for strategic thinkers with a passion for data-driven decision-making. You will lead internal initiatives to analyze operational performance, identify emerging trends, and build powerful narratives that guide leadership on resource allocation, process optimization, and long-term planning. You will create and maintain sophisticated dashboards and analytical tools to monitor key internal metrics across commercial, engineering, production, test, inventory, quality, and supply chain functions. Ideal team members are highly analytical professionals from strategy consulting or investment banking backgrounds who excel in flexible environments, are extremely proficient with Excel, data analysis, dashboards, and PowerPoint, and bring credibility, clarity, and smart decision-making to our internal stakeholders and leadership teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
β’ Develop and maintain advanced data analysis tools, interactive dashboards, and tracking systems to analyze operational performance, historical trends, and emerging patterns across Starlink Aviation internal processes and functions
β’ Anticipate and identify operational challenges and opportunities through rigorous data analysis, determine root causes, and develop data-backed solutions for immediate mitigation as well as long-term strategic improvement and prevention
β’ Take complex internal data sets and build insightful, powerful narratives using Excel, dashboards, and PowerPoint to communicate findings, trends, and recommendations to internal business leaders and stakeholders
β’ Partner with cross-departmental internal teams (including commercial, finance, industrial design, engineering, application software, production, test, inventory, quality, and supply chain) to gather data, synchronize efforts, and create tight internal feedback loops for continuous operational improvement
β’ Partner with all levels of leadership within the organization to develop and review potential projects, steer allocation of improvement resources, and ensure sustainability of implemented solutions based on data-driven insights
β’ Manage analytical projects and execute to tight timelines while effectively communicating to and influencing internal stakeholders
β’ Codify knowledge and best practices of internal systems and processes, actively ensuring these documents and practices are updated and maintained
β’ Drive positive business outcomes across disciplines including commercial, engineering, production, test, inventory, quality, and supply chain by delivering actionable insights that support strategic decision-making
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in business, engineering, mathematics, economics, or a STEM field
β’ 3+ years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, operations, or a similar analytical environment
β’ Extremely proficient with Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, VBA/macros), data analysis, building interactive dashboards, and PowerPoint
β’ Proven ability to take complex data sets and build insightful and powerful narratives that drive decision-making
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
β’ Background in strategy consulting or investment banking industry
β’ Strong track record of creating credibility with internal stakeholders and senior leadership through data-driven insights and presentations
β’ Experience driving cross-functional change within large organizations
β’ Strong project management skills and ability to lead projects that require influencing without authority
β’ Experience applying structured analytical and process improvement methodologies
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make compelling presentations to engineers, team members, and management
β’ Proven ability to build efficient analytics pipelines and applications in Excel and dashboard tools
β’ Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements
β’ Ability to identify operational needs, gather data requirements, and execute independently
β’ Ability to take on projects that require initiative and developing new expertise
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
β’ Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Operations Analyst/Level I: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00/per year
Operations Analyst/Level II: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
