About the Role
We are looking for a mid-level Backend Engineer to join Spotifyβs Data Platform team. This role focuses on building scalable infrastructure services and tools to enable Spotify to solve complex data engineering problems.
Key Responsibilities
- βCollaborate with product and engineering to build and support infrastructure that empowers Spotify teams to process data
- βIncrease developer productivity by building innovative tools that reduce overhead of working with data pipelines
- βWork with engineers with deep expertise in data to drive improvements in the data processing ecosystem
- βHelp the platform orchestrate data jobs in a seamless way
Requirements
- βProficient in backend development using Java
- βComfortable working with big data using SQL and data analytics platforms like BigQuery
- βExperience with higher-level JVM-based data processing frameworks such as Flink, Beam, Dataflow, Spark
- βExperience with DevOps and cloud-based infrastructure and services
- βExperience with Kubernetes and its basic concepts
- βExperience working with data engineering pipelines in Scala and/or Python
- βStrong commitment to quality and shipping high-quality code
- βFamiliarity with agile software processes and engineering practices
