About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to join Stack AI, a no-code platform for designing, testing, and deploying AI workflows. This is a technical leadership position where you'll shape our architecture and make long-term infrastructure decisions to scale our platform.
Key Responsibilities
- →Architect and scale core systems, designing backend services from API layer through data pipeline
- →Lead authentication and identity infrastructure, owning SSO, SAML, and OIDC integrations
- →Set technical direction by defining system design patterns and long-term infrastructure strategy
- →Mentor and elevate the team through design reviews and establishing best practices
- →Drive reliability and observability by identifying bottlenecks and improving performance
Requirements
- ✓6+ years of backend engineering experience at Staff level or as a technical lead
- ✓Deep expertise in SSO, SAML, and OIDC, with experience building identity and authentication systems
- ✓Broad understanding of identity provider architecture and enterprise auth patterns
- ✓Strong proficiency in Python with experience in FastAPI or similar frameworks
- ✓Deep knowledge of distributed systems design, database architecture, and scaling strategies
- ✓Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, Supabase, SQLAlchemy)
- ✓Strong command of cloud infrastructure (AWS: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- ✓Experience with entitlements management, usage-based metering, or billing systems
