About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional engineering manager to lead a team of backend engineers at Stripe. This role involves solving challenging distributed systems problems and developing partnerships with other teams to unlock new capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- →Demonstrate strong first principles thinking when approaching complex problems and system design
- →Manage a team of ambitious backend engineers ranging from new grads to staff with 0-4+ years of tenure
- →Foster a healthy team culture with a high level of trust, autonomy, and psychological safety
- →Lead and manage processes to help the team do their best work and engage effectively with the rest of Stripe
- →Collaborate with product and infra engineering teams to deliver a cohesive solution
Requirements
- ✓At least 3 years of experience managing teams that shipped and operated critical distributed system infrastructure
- ✓Works effectively cross-functionally and is able to think rigorously, communicate effectively, and make or coordinate hard decisions and trade-offs
- ✓Thrives with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility in an ambiguous environment
- ✓Technical acumen to drive clarity with staff engineers about architecture and technical strategic decisions
- ✓Consistent track record of hiring and leading productive engineering teams
