About the Role
TEGNA Inc. is seeking a Senior iOS Developer to join their mobile engineering pod model and deliver high-quality, scalable iOS experiences across their media properties. In this role, you will act as a technical anchor within your pod, owning complex features end to end while collaborating with product, design, backend, and QA peers.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, develop, test, and maintain complex iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit
- →Provide technical guidance and support to other developers within the pod
- →Help coordinate technical work within the pod to ensure dependencies are clear
- →Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and QA to shape solutions
- →Integrate RESTful APIs and collaborate with backend teams on API design
- →Ensure high code quality through thoughtful design, unit testing, and code reviews
- →Contribute to CI and CD pipelines and support a reliable release process
- →Mentor mid-level developers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of professional iOS development experience on production applications
- ✓Strong expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit
- ✓Experience building and maintaining modular, scalable iOS architectures
- ✓Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, networking, and REST integrations
- ✓Experience debugging complex issues and optimizing app performance
- ✓Familiarity with automated testing strategies and mobile build pipelines
- ✓Ability to work autonomously within a pod while collaborating across teams
- ✓Clear communication skills and a strong sense of ownership
