About the Role
Telesat is seeking a Network Engineer to provide technical expertise for the operation of its IT and GEO infrastructure. This role involves implementing, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting systems and networks integral to Telesat’s daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- →Implement, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot systems and networks
- →Work with complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation
- →Coordinate with security team and network architect
- →Travel between 3 sites in the Ottawa-Gatineau area on a rotational basis
Requirements
- ✓Diploma or Degree in a relevant area of study, preferably Computer Science
- ✓Minimum of 5 years in Information Technology (with a related University Degree) or minimum of eight years in Information Technology (with a three-year College Diploma)
- ✓Good working knowledge of networking, security, and infrastructure
- ✓Experience in network automation using IaC
- ✓Experience in large complex data centers
- ✓Effective interpersonal skills
- ✓Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- ✓Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP or equivalent are a strong asset
- ✓The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
