Whether ideating mobile apps that deliver personalised content, or evolving our flagship website, economist.com, you will help transform how we acquire, convert, engage and retain our 1.2 million subscribers. We are looking for a Software Engineer, iOS, to help build and improve our mobile applications. In this role, you will contribute to delivering reliable, high-quality features while growing your expertise in native iOS development. You will work in a collaborative, remote-first environment alongside experienced engineers, contributing to both new features and ongoing improvements to the app. This is a great opportunity to deepen your technical skills while working on meaningful, user-facing products.. You should enjoy working with autonomy in a creative and entrepreneurial environment, and have a strong commitment to producing high quality code. We follow a remote-first working policy, with the option to work from the office as desired, and a minimum expectation of two in-office days per month. How you will contribute: • Develop and maintain iOS applications using Swift and modern frameworks. • Build user interfaces and features in collaboration with Product and Design. • Contribute to application architecture and code quality within the team. • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. • Debug issues and help improve application performance and stability. • Participate in code reviews and team engineering practices. • Work with backend services and APIs to deliver end-to-end functionality. • Support testing, release, and CI/CD processes.
