About the Role
The Observability Platform team at TomTom is responsible for managing capabilities that help identify issues within online products and ensure they are timely fixed to enable the best customer experience. This role focuses on improving operational quality and effectiveness of the service through system engineering and software development.
Key Responsibilities
- →Address reliability, availability, scalability, and efficiency for team components and help the rest of the company benefit from them
- →Manage existing Observability tools and help internal customers master them
- →Learn about the architecture, design, standards, and implementation of new and existing systems to enhance functionality, reliability, efficiency, and scalability
- →Learn to scale systems and increase their reliability in a diverse environment ensuring mission-critical systems meet 99.95% SLOs
- →Support navigation tooling globally
Requirements
- ✓Experience with modern coding/infrastructure related languages such as Golang and/or Python
- ✓Systems engineering fundamentals understanding: Linux, containers, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS), distributed systems basics
- ✓Non-production experience with Cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes and/or other CNCF and/or Observability-related tools
- ✓Theoretical high-level understanding of what SRE/Platform/Infrastructure/DevOps teams/organizations are responsible for within Software Engineering domain
- ✓Theoretical knowledge about SRE best practices, observability, GitOps practices/infrastructure automation including infrastructure as code
- ✓Understanding of security and compliance essentials
- ✓Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- ✓Product mindset
