What you’ll do:
• Be part of a dynamic scrum team to help resolve design and implementation challenges
• Design, build, and maintain high-performance, cost-efficient software that support product creation and delivery processes
• Make meaningful contributions to architecture and design, including leading design efforts and making technical trade-off decisions
• Maintain and sustain the current software stack to reduce technical debt and continuously improve software and product quality
• Solve complex engineering problems and unblock visible risks/roadblocks (e.g., refactoring portions of software, large migrations)
• Provide insightful code reviews, take ownership of outcomes, and occasionally lead small project teams or project steps within a broader initiative
• Contribute to process improvements and improve the way the team works (CI/CD quality, automation, testing, and engineering practices)
What you’ll need
• Fluent spoken and written English
• 3+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and object-oriented design principles
• Knowledge of SQL and Relational Databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Experience building and operating services on cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
• Good understanding of microservices and distributed systems
• Experience with deployment automation, including CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
What’s nice to have:
• Understanding of data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
• Experience with Docker containerization
• Ability to also code in Groovy, Scala, and/or C++
• AWS and/or Azure cloud certification
