About the Role
We are looking for a Backend Developer to join our team at World. This role focuses on building and operating backend systems that support our real human network designed to accelerate people in the age of AI.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and evolve service boundaries, API contracts, and data models over Postgres/Hasura
- →Build robust Node.js/TypeScript services and serverless endpoints
- →Lead AWS infrastructure design with CDK
- →Drive reliability and performance through caching, pagination, and other strategies
- →Own migrations and schema lifecycle
- →Establish observability with structured logging, metrics, and tracing
- →Harden security with Auth0, secrets/KMS, and data access boundaries
- →Optimize cost and scale through compute tuning and CDN/edge utilization
- →Mentor junior engineers and review designs
- →Collaborate with frontend partners on API ergonomics
Requirements
- ✓Deep experience building and operating backend systems in Node.js/TypeScript
- ✓Expertise with AWS primitives and IaC tools
- ✓Strong SQL/Postgres fundamentals and production tuning
- ✓GraphQL experience, preferably with Hasura
- ✓Proven track record leading backend initiatives
- ✓Security-minded approach to IAM design and secret management
- ✓Excellent communication skills
- ✓Frontend familiarity with Next.js/React/TypeScript
