About the Role
The Design Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact among technical teams within the engineering group, organizing work and supporting technical planning. This role contributes to producing detailed designs for major infrastructure contracts and ensures compliance with standards.
Key Responsibilities
- →Oversee and coordinate input from all technical design disciplines to ensure fully integrated and optimal delivery
- →Oversee planning, programming, controlling and assuring of design content
- →Collaborate with package leads to ensure effective communication and decision-making within the technical team
- →Ensure designs for main infrastructure contracts are detailed enough and comply with reference design
- →Coordinate the design process and collation of design information for key areas
- →Oversee coordination with the team responsible for operational requirements
- →Ensure all operational requirements are considered in detailed design development
- →Coordinate with statutory and non-statutory stakeholders
- →Support preparation for reporting meetings by updating programme dates and capturing variances
- →Coordinate with scheme architect and operations advisor
- →Work with rail safety coordination team for regulatory applications
- →Assist in compliance with engineering management strategies
- →Track and manage progress, issue reports and prepare risk assessments
- →Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
- →Review construction techniques and technological developments
- →Provide support in monitoring and managing design changes
- →Assist in preparation of design-related presentations and reports
- →Establish quality management systems for the design process
Requirements
