About the Role
We are seeking a Cost Management Team Leader to join Turner & Townsend, a leading management consultancy in the Commercial Developer sector. This role involves managing cost control across diverse projects from feasibility to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead the cost management team and ensure accountability
- →Assist with feasibility studies and procurement reports
- →Estimate and plan costs, presenting final cost plans
- →Manage tendering processes including pre-qualification and tender lists
- →Handle post-contract cost variances and change control
- →Conduct cost checks and valuations ensuring accuracy
- →Produce and present monthly post-contract cost reports
- →Input into value engineering initiatives
- →Negotiate and agree on final accounts
- →Interface with clients and consultants at all project stages
- →Identify new business opportunities with existing clients
- →Improve cost management procedures, templates, and products
- →Ensure key information and learnings are input into the internal database
- →Track financial management using FMS
- →Identify and refer ideas for process improvement
- →Assess commission management quality and efficiency
Requirements
- ✓Proven experience in cost management within construction or development
- ✓Strong understanding of procurement processes and tendering
- ✓Excellent analytical and financial planning skills
- ✓Experience with cost control software and FMS systems
- ✓Leadership experience managing technical teams
- ✓Knowledge of value engineering principles
- ✓Strong communication skills for client and consultant interactions
