About the Role
We are looking for a Principal Engineer to join our SRE team at Udemy. This role involves managing infrastructure from CDN to Datastores, building tools for internal customers, and driving reliability standards across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead the end-to-end development of systems
- →Use critical thinking to follow a defined decision-making process
- →Identify opportunities to improve processes and standards
- →Manage Kubernetes clusters and cloud environments
- →Design bespoke solutions for greenfield projects
- →Write tools and applications using Python, Golang, and Kotlin
- →Participate in on-call rotation and incident management
- →Mentor other engineers on the SRE team
- →Champion SRE best practices
- →Represent SRE across Engineering
Requirements
- ✓Extensive experience managing Kubernetes clusters and cloud environments
- ✓Extensive experience using infrastructure as code tools
- ✓Experience designing bespoke solutions for greenfield projects
- ✓Experience writing tools and applications using Python, Golang, and Kotlin
- ✓Experience with on-call and incident management
- ✓Experience working with a wide variety of engineering teams
- ✓Good communication skills and ability to share and receive feedback
