About the Role
We are looking for a Data Engineering Manager to lead our Data Engineering team. This role involves managing a team of Data Engineers and owning the end-to-end data lifecycle, from high-volume ingestion to analytics transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- →Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, psychological safety, and continuous delivery.
- →Platform Strategy: Define the Data Engineering team vision, balancing immediate business needs with a long-term shift towards a self-service data mesh architecture.
- →Infrastructure Ownership: Oversee the development of core data pipelines and platform tools, ensuring high performance for ingestion services.
- →Pipeline & Warehousing: Ensure the implementation of robust ETL/ELT pipelines and scalable models (Kimball/Data Vault), maintaining overall warehouse health.
- →Reliability & DevOps: Champion DevOps best practices, utilising Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD to ensure platform resilience.
- →Collaboration: Partner with Data Architects and Governance teams to embed security, compliance, and robust system design into the platform.
Requirements
- ✓Experience managing a team of Data Engineers
- ✓Strong understanding of data lifecycle management
- ✓Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing
- ✓Familiarity with Kimball and Data Vault models
