About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the Core Platform team at Vanta. You'll drive technical strategy across infrastructure and security systems, enabling the engineering organization to build and ship products with velocity and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead strategic technical initiatives across Core Platform's infrastructure and security domains
- →Design and evolve internal platforms that abstract away infrastructure and security complexity
- →Drive multi-quarter platform projects that improve infrastructure reliability and security posture
- →Build platform capabilities for enterprise and regulated environments
- →Partner with product engineering, security, and leadership to create scalable platform solutions
- →Champion engineering excellence by mentoring senior engineers and influencing architecture
Requirements
- ✓Deep industry experience in platform engineering, infrastructure systems, or backend architecture
- ✓Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives spanning multiple quarters and teams
- ✓Mastery in system design, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure (AWS)
- ✓Experience with containerized deployments (ECS, Fargate), database management (MongoDB), and security hardening practices
- ✓Excellent communication and leadership skills
- ✓Strong technical foundation in modern backend technologies (TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL)
