About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team at Veracyte, focusing on supporting laboratory operations and lab automation across multiple sites. This role involves maintaining and optimizing IT infrastructure while ensuring laboratory systems run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

→Provide dedicated IT support for laboratory operations across multiple lab sites
→Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory automation tools and emerging technologies
→Collaborate with scientists and lab managers on the IT aspects of lab projects
→Administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
→Provide technical support to end users as a higher-tier escalation point
→Implement and manage data backup and recovery solutions for systems and servers
→Create and update comprehensive system documentation
→Work closely with other IT professionals and departments to address technology needs

Requirements

✓Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (desirable)
✓3 to 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role
✓In-depth knowledge of system administration, network protocols, and security best practices
✓Strong proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems
✓Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
✓Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure)
✓Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
✓Relevant certifications (CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) preferred
