About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team at Versaterm, a global public safety solutions company. This role involves leading the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance software applications critical to our business and public safety customers.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead the design and architecture of complex, scalable software solutions
- →Take ownership of high-impact projects from requirements gathering to implementation and support
- →Write high-quality, clean, and efficient code
- →Mentor and guide junior engineers
- →Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams
- →Optimize application performance and ensure software scales effectively
- →Resolve complex technical issues and ensure software meets business requirements
- →Stay updated with industry trends and drive innovation
- →Participate in agile processes including sprint planning and retrospectives
- →Ensure code, system designs, and technical processes are well-documented
Requirements
- ✓Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- ✓6+ years of professional software development experience
- ✓Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, JavaScript
- ✓Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and principles
- ✓Expertise in front-end and back-end development
- ✓Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
- ✓Experience with cloud services like AWS or Azure
- ✓Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices
- ✓Extensive experience with multiple development practices
- ✓Experience with automated testing and unit testing frameworks
- ✓Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
- ✓Note: This position requires a security clearance from the Government of Canada.
