About the Role
We are looking for a Java Engineer to join our team at Currencycloud, which was acquired by Visa in December 2021. Our engineers are responsible for implementing an industry-leading API that processes over 50 billion USD of cross-border transactions for over 5 million end users.
Key Responsibilities
- →Play a key role within cross-functional teams, taking responsibility for services and technology
- →Build out brand new parts of our payments platform, focusing on high availability and cloud-native concepts
- →Lead technical direction and systems design discussions, and mentor junior team members
- →Work with distributed applications using Kubernetes and a microservice-led architecture
- →Utilize Kafka for streaming and PACT for Contract testing
Requirements
- ✓Strong experience with Java, versions 11+, and the Springboot framework
- ✓Experience with highly-scalable, highly-available, cloud-native applications on AWS
- ✓Familiarity with cloud-related tools and services, including Docker, Kubernetes, ElasticSearch, and Datadog
- ✓Knowledge of SQL and large SQL databases
- ✓Experience with testing approaches including TDD, BDD, and Contract Testing
- ✓Understanding of Agile development and continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines
