Role summary: 
β’ Platform Lead Engineer will own the design and development of Platform structure and packaging as per system / subsystem level requirements complying with standards specified.   
 Key Responsibilities: 
β’ Design and development of Platform and its components for locomotive application using sound Engineering principles, adhering to business standards/ processes and as per program requirements.  
β’ Ability to understand the system requirements flow down to sub-system.  
β’ Develop concepts and evaluate, identify risks and mitigation plans to address them.  
β’ Take the design through technical reviews.  
β’ Document the technical data consistent with Engineering policies and quality procedures. 
β’ Provide shop support for in-house manufacturing.
β’ Address Supplier/Field issues. 
β’ Interfacing with cross functional stakeholders across the organization. 
β’ Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.  
β’ Participate in organizational initiatives and team activities.
β’   Qualifications / Requirements: 
β’ Bachelorβs / Masterβs degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 2-3 yearsβ working experience in the Mechanical design/ Heavy fabrication area.  
Desired Characteristics
β’ Expertise in structural design ownership with affinity for calculation of material strength, bolted joint, welded joint etc.  
β’ Expertise in FEA is added advantage. 
β’ Experience in guiding CAD/FEA teams to develop robust design and packaging based on FEA results from various load cases. 
β’ Ability in navigate UG/Teamcenter. 
β’ Good communication and influential skills. 
β’ Ability to work independently
β’ Must be a flexible to work at global locations.
β’ Good Problem-solving skills 
 Other Requirements: 
β’ Strong technical aptitude, including applicable Engineering tools and systems. 
β’ Strong sense of responsibility and deadline, team player and can work under pressure.
