Visit our website to learn more!   Role summary:  • Platform Lead Engineer will own the design and development of Platform structure and packaging as per system / subsystem level requirements complying with standards specified.     Key Responsibilities:  • Design and development of Platform and its components for locomotive application using sound Engineering principles, adhering to business standards/ processes and as per program requirements.   • Ability to understand the system requirements flow down to sub-system.   • Develop concepts and evaluate, identify risks and mitigation plans to address them.   • Take the design through technical reviews.   • Document the technical data consistent with Engineering policies and quality procedures.  • Provide shop support for in-house manufacturing. • Address Supplier/Field issues.  • Interfacing with cross functional stakeholders across the organization.  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.   • Participate in organizational initiatives and team activities. •   Qualifications / Requirements:  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 2-3 years’ working experience in the Mechanical design/ Heavy fabrication area.   Desired Characteristics • Expertise in structural design ownership with affinity for calculation of material strength, bolted joint, welded joint etc.   • Expertise in FEA is added advantage.  • Experience in guiding CAD/FEA teams to develop robust design and packaging based on FEA results from various load cases.  • Ability in navigate UG/Teamcenter.  • Good communication and influential skills.  • Ability to work independently • Must be a flexible to work at global locations. • Good Problem-solving skills   Other Requirements:  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable Engineering tools and systems.  • Strong sense of responsibility and deadline, team player and can work under pressure.   Our Commitment to Embrace Diversity:   Wabtec is a global company that invests not just in our products, but also our people by embracing diversity and inclusion.
