As a Senior Project Manager at Ware Malcomb, you will deliver innovative design projects to diverse clients through all phases. You will lead internal and external teams, be financially responsible for projects by adhering to budgets and workplans and oversee the development of contract documents. As the primary client contact, your leadership and exceptional client service ensures project success.

You will work on a specialized team focused on some of the most complex, large-scale advanced manufacturing projects in the world. This team partners with global technology leadersβincluding work on high-profile semiconductor fabricationβwhere precision, speed, and innovation are critical. Itβs a unique opportunity to contribute to highly visible, technically demanding projects that are shaping the future of advanced industries.
Your Role
β’ Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate phases of the project (Typical: Conceptual, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Document, and Construction services).
β’ Preparation of project schedules.
β’ Discusses their project health both administratively and technically with their operations leader.
β’ Alerts the Business Operations Manager to any changing project conditions that need to be elevated to office leadership.
β’ Maintains project planner for all phases of their projects and updates them each week to discuss during their weekly staffing meetings with studio leadership.
β’ Issues add services and gets them approved in a timely manner prior to starting work on additional scope for any of their projects.
β’ Utilize the companyβs resource groups for design, preparation of design and construction documents. Provide construction services (Site visits, review shop drawings, etc.).
β’ Coordinates with the contracts team for the successful execution of the project contract.
β’ Represent WM at required jurisdiction public design review or development approval meetings and project presentations when required.
β’ Assembles the consultant team for the project (Identify scope of work, collect fees, select consultants, and facilitate contracts) as required.
β’ Assists the studio leader and is a resource and mentor to junior project members within the office.
β’ Assists in writing and reviewing proposals and the consultant team with the studio leader.
β’ Coordinates with the accounting team regarding accounts receivable, consultants payable, and invoicing.
β’ Coordinates the project consultants through all phases of the project.
β’ Works with the QC studio, peer reviewer, or dedicated Project Architect to review all phases of the contract documents prior to issuance.
Qualifications
β’ 10+ years of experience on Life Science or other relevant Science & Technology projects; prior Project Manager experience preferred.
β’ Demonstrated lab planning experience.
β’ Experience overseeing the full life cycle of an S&T project, from programming and planning through CA and commissioning.
β’ Knowledge of applicable building codes. Individual should be able to interact with code officials and other design professionals to resolve complex code issues.
β’ Knowledge and experience designing wet and dry laboratories, and clean rooms.
β’ Knowledge of clean room ISO standards.
β’ Hazardous material containment and control area knowledge with respect to life science, pharmaceutical and manufacturing environments.
β’ GMP and FDA regulatory understanding with respect to Cleanroom classifications and validations.
β’ Excellent communication skills, a great personality and a strong work ethic.
β’ Experience in the use of Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and Deltek Vantagepoint experience is preferred.
β’ Experience working with clients, as part of a team and be able to work independently.
β’ Proven ability to manage schedule and budget for multiple projects of various sizes.
